Cryotherapy uses controlled cold treatment to remove selected benign skin lesions. It may be considered for concerns such as skin tags, warts, seborrhoeic keratoses and other non-suspicious lesions. Every lesion must be assessed first to confirm whether cryotherapy is appropriate.
Lesions we can assess
• Skin tags
• Viral warts
• Seborrhoeic keratoses
• Other lesions that appear clinically benign
• Whether assessment, monitoring, removal by another method, or referral is more appropriate
Your consultation and treatment plan
Dr Sadhra will examine the lesion and discuss whether cryotherapy is suitable. If treatment is appropriate, you will be advised about the expected skin reaction, healing time, aftercare, possible need for more than one session, risks and costs before treatment is agreed.
When to seek medical advice
Please arrange medical assessment promptly if a lesion is changing rapidly, bleeding, painful, ulcerated, unusually pigmented or otherwise concerning. A lesion should not be treated cosmetically until it has been assessed appropriately.
