Mole mapping and skin lesion assessment provide a structured way to review moles or other skin lesions that concern you. Dr Sadhra can examine selected lesions, use dermoscopy where appropriate and record photographs to support monitoring over time. This service does not replace urgent NHS assessment for a rapidly changing or suspicious lesion.
When to book an assessment
• A mole or lesion you would like checked
• Multiple moles that you would like photographed for monitoring
• A lesion that has changed in size, shape, colour or sensation
• A prior lesion that needs review or comparison over time
What happens at your assessment
Your appointment includes a review of the lesion or moles you wish to discuss, relevant history and examination. You will be advised whether monitoring, treatment, a routine referral or urgent NHS assessment is the most appropriate next step. Where photographs are taken, their role in monitoring will be explained.
When to seek urgent advice
Contact your GP, NHS 111 or urgent care promptly if a mole or lesion is changing rapidly, bleeding, ulcerated, painful, very dark, irregular or causing concern. Do not wait for a routine cosmetic appointment if you are worried about possible skin cancer.
