Intralesional steroid injections may be considered for selected raised scars, including keloid and hypertrophic scars, and for some cases of alopecia areata. This treatment is not suitable for every scar or hair-loss concern, so a face-to-face assessment is required before any procedure is agreed.
Concerns we can assess
• Keloid scars
• Hypertrophic scars
• Alopecia areata affecting selected areas
• Whether an alternative treatment or referral may be more appropriate
Your consultation and treatment plan
Dr Sadhra will examine the area, review your medical history and explain whether an injection is appropriate. If it is, you will be advised about expected benefits, limitations, possible side effects, aftercare, costs and whether a course of treatment or follow-up is recommended.
Is this treatment suitable for me?
Steroid injections may not be suitable if you have an active infection at the treatment site, certain medical conditions, or a known allergy to the medication. Suitability is always determined individually during your consultation.
