Exosomes are tiny particles naturally released by cells. They carry proteins, growth factors and other signalling molecules involved in communication and repair between cells. In clinic, we use the e50 exosome product, applied to the skin or scalp during SkinPen microneedling to support the body’s own regenerative processes. What happens at your appointment
Your skin is cleansed and a numbing cream is applied. SkinPen microneedling creates controlled micro-channels in the skin, and the exosome product is applied so it can penetrate effectively. The appointment takes around 60 minutes.
Downtime and aftercare
Expect redness similar to mild sunburn for 24 to 48 hours. Avoid make-up for 24 hours, and avoid exercise, saunas and active skincare such as retinoids and acids for 48 hours. Use a high-factor sunscreen daily.
How many sessions will I need?
A course of three sessions spaced four to six weeks apart is usually recommended, with maintenance treatments as needed.
What does the evidence show?
Exosome treatments in aesthetic medicine are relatively new, and research is still developing. We will give you a balanced view of what is known, and what results you can realistically expect, at your consultation.
Is it suitable for me?
Treatment may not be suitable if you have active acne, a skin infection or cold sore in the treatment area, or are pregnant or breastfeeding. Suitability is confirmed at your consultation.
